The Ivy Connection, Inc. was established in June of 2005 after members saw an opportunity to transform communities in Leon and Jefferson counties through expanded scholarships, services, and programs. The 501(c)(3) status of the corporation provides a platform for the implementation of charitable and service activities. Some of these community activities have included:

  • Pink Hat Tea: an annual event that provides a forum for health education;

  • Father-Daughter Dance: an annual event to strengthen the relationships between fathers and daughters;

  • BC-RAP: a weekly reading enrichment program designed to improve first and second graders reading proficiency; and

  • Food insecurities: supporting and addressing childhood hunger in students K-12 in Leon and Jefferson counties.

Activities are funded through fundraisers, donations, and grants designed to generate capital for college scholarships and other community services. Programs are executed by engaging volunteers who are members of the organization and by collaborating with community partners who share and endorse the goals and objectives of the corporation.

The corporation is led by a board of 13 dedicated, established women who are change agents with proven records of professionalism and service to the community. All members dedicate their time, commitment, and resources as volunteers to the corporation to serve those in most need of assistance in Leon and Jefferson counties.
